Having long experience in academia and in the implementation of international research projects in the field of renewable energy technologies and climate change I thought that I should try to transfer my knowledge in supporting several private and public organizations to increase their sustainability.
The international climate agreement in Paris in 2015 and the commitment of many countries for net-zero carbon emissions economy in the coming decades has driven me to start supporting organizations to achieve carbon neutrality. Agricultural greenhouses are rural enterprises consuming large amounts of energy during crops’ growth while frequently they do not have the energy experts to assist them in their clean energy transition. Nowadays, due to technological advances, several benign energy technologies can provide the necessary heat and electricity in greenhouses covering their energy demand.
After discussing my ideas with some friends I was enthusiastic with their positive comments and encouragement.
I discussed then with some young and qualified scientists about the project and its innovative aspects and they all agreed to be together on board starting this exciting endeavor.
